Disciples’ Village is pleased to announce a new addition to our team!
Karen Bradshaw is now serving as the Medical Director, a much needed position that will offer support and coordination to the many medical teams that run clinics through DV. Her primary responsibilities include ordering medicines, maintaining supply inventories, and reducing waste by managing expiring products.
Karen first became involved with Disciples’ Village when her medical practice performed surgery for Renel, one of our children at Alex’s House Orphanage, several years ago. Afterward, she and her husband became sponsors for Renel and eventually made the trip to Haiti to visit.
I immediately fell in love with the people of Haiti, the children of Alex’s House, and the long-term vision of Disciples’ Village. I made my third trip to Haiti this past March.”
Karen and her husband Mike live in Dothan, Alabama. They have 5 children and 6 grandchildren. She is currently the administrator for a Dothan based surgical group, but will be retiring in the fall. She then looks forward to spending more time working with the mission of Disciples’ Village.
God has blessed me with a long career in the medical field. With blessings come responsibility. God is calling me to use my retirement to help build His kingdom in Haiti. It defies explanation, but I immediately felt like Haiti was “home” on my first visit, and still feel that way today.
Karen, we are blessed to have you on our team. We anticipate God doing wonderful work through your service.
