Clay became a part of Disciples’ Village in 2015 on a medical trip and has been back each year since. On a trip in 2018, it became clear to him that one of the best ways to have a sustained impact on the health of the Haitian people we serve was to focus on those who are most vulnerable: pregnant mothers and young children. Thus, Healthy Moms|Healthy Babies was born. We now have the opportunity to sponsor a mom throughout pregnancy to receive prenatal care and safe delivery in the hospital. This also includes ongoing care for her newborn, including vitamins, vaccines, and frequent assessments over the first five years of life. Most importantly, the nurse who cares for them from Disciples’ Village is pouring her life and the gospel into our patients. Clay has been married to Joy for over 25 years, and they have seven children. He is an emergency physician at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
